From March 15 to 24, Huang Haijun, Vice President of Beihang University, led a delegation to attend the 2024 HSK Study in China Education & Career Expo (Philippines), HSK Study Abroad in China Info Session (Brunei), and HSK Study in China Education & Career Expo (Malaysia), which were sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, Chinese Testing International Co., Ltd., and ASEAN-China Center.
The HSK Study in China Education & Career Expo 2024 (Philippines) attracted more than 2,000 Chinese language learners, their parents and people from all walks of life in the Philippines. Beihang University set up a booth to introduce the overall situation, discipline characteristics, admission application and other relevant information of the university in a detailed manner to the participants, and answered the questions from students who are interested in applying for Beihang. During their stay in the Philippines, the delegation also visited the Philippine Chinese Education Research Center, universities in the Philippines and the Philippine Cultural College.
The delegation then visited Chung Hwa Middle School, BSB (CHMS) in Brunei, and held the HSK Study Abroad in China Info Session. The special feature of various disciplines in Beihang attracted more than 200 senior high school students from Brunei High School to seek for information, who showed great interest in aerospace, machinery, electronics, computer, bio-medicine, economic management and other majors.
The delegation made their third stop in Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia, where they were warmly welcomed by Miri National High School, a school with various honorary titles such as “Model High School in Sarawak", "Model High School in Malaysia" and "Best High School in Sarawak (Chief Minister's Special Award)". Students of the school actively communicated with the teachers and school curriculum advisors in the delegation, and asked about the conditions and application process of sci-tech majors in Beihang University.
The HSK Study in China Education & Career Expo 2024 (Malaysia) and ASEAN (Malaysia)-China Higher Education Forum was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on March 23, attracting tens of thousands of students and parents. Mustapha, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia; Huang Jiahe, Deputy Minister of Education of Malaysia; Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador of China to Malaysia; Shi Zhongjun, Secretary General of ASEAN-China Center; Hu Zhiping, Vice Director of Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education in China, and over 200 representatives from universities in Malaysia and China attended the opening ceremony. Huang Haijun delivered a speech on behalf of the Chinese university delegation at the opening ceremony, inviting young students from all over ASEAN to study in China and live a more colorful life. At the ASEAN-China Higher Education Forum, Huang Haijun delivered a speech on the theme of "Quality Assurance, Language Education and Student Services", introducing Beihang’s education and teaching quality assurance system and the student-centered service system.
In addition, a delegation from Beihang also participated in the 2024 China Higher Education Fair, which was jointly organized by the United Chinese School Committees' Association of Malaysia and the Association of Graduates from Universities and Colleges of China, Malaysia in Johore and Kuala Lumpur.
