Recently, Beijing Municipal Commission of Education announced the winners of the 10th Beijing College Students Animation Design Competition, in which Beihang students attained outstanding achievements. Students' works instructed by Ye Qiang, Zhuang Weijia, Xu Jingqiu, Wang Dan, Wang Shuo and other teachers from the School of New Media Art and Design won 3 first prizes, 17 second prizes and 17 third prizes in the category of comic illustration. In the category of animation, students' works instructed by Yu Shui, Xu Jingqiu, Wei Shilei and Liu Ke nabbed 2 second prizes and 11 third prizes. Ye Qiang and Wang Dan attained the Excellent Instructor Award, and Beihang University was granted the Excellent Organizational Unit Award.

The Beijing College Students Animation Design Competition is sponsored by Beijing Municipal Commission of Education and organized by Communication University of China, with the aim of elevating the creative ability in animation among Beijing college students, promoting the exchange in design and creation, facilitating the development of animation design education, and discovering outstanding talents in animation design. The competition this year has five categories: animation, comic illustration, interactive works, visual effects and generative AI. The School of New Media Art and Design of Beihang University has long been adhering to the concept of promoting teaching through competition, and actively organizing students to participate in various competitions, aiming to improve students' practical innovation ability in a comprehensive manner.
