On the morning of April 22, a delegation led by Denis S. Guts, Vice President of Siberian Federal University, visited Beihang University. Beihang Vice President Huang Haijun met with the guests in the fifth conference room of New Main Building.
Huang Haijun first extended a warm welcome to Guts for his visit to Beihang, and briefly introduced the latest development of the university in talent cultivation, scientific research, global cooperation and other aspects. He said that Beihang and Siberian Federal University have a long history of cooperation, and the two sides have a good foundation for cooperation in high-level visits and student exchanges. He hoped that this meeting would further focus on the subject areas of common interest of both sides, and further deepen the pragmatic cooperation between the two universities in the fields of international talent training and scientific research cooperation by selecting teachers to carry out academic exchanges and discussions in each other's universities.
Guts expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of Beihang, and briefly introduced the overall situation of Siberian Federal University in the establishment of colleges, courses, international exchanges and cooperation. He said that the two sides have a good basis for exchange and cooperation at the university level. He hoped that the two universities would carry out talent training cooperation such as international summer schools and student exchanges based on the advantages of the disciplines of both sides, and encourage teachers to carry out academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation.
The two sides then exchanged views and reached a consensus on such issues as establishing student exchange programs, sending students to participate in international summer schools, jointly holding bilateral cooperation seminars, and jointly applying for international research cooperation projects.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Center for Micro-Nano Innovation of Beihang (Beihang Nano).
Siberian Federal University was founded in November 2006 by the merger of four key universities in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, Russia. The university is ranked among the top 20 comprehensive universities in Russia and is a member of the Russian Project 5-100 (The Russian Academic Excellence Project). The university consists of 21 schools, and has great strength in the fields of chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, biomedicine, law, linguistics, economics and management. Beihang and Siberia Federal University established a university-level partnership in 2012.
