On April 24, with the theme of "Look Afar to Cosmos and Join Together for Space, " the main venue events of the 2024 "Space Day of China" and the opening ceremony of China Space Conference 2024 were held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. At the opening ceremony, the 2023 China Aerospace Foundation Awards were presented to scientific and technological workers and teams who have made outstanding contributions to China’s aerospace industry. Prof. Lyu Jinhu, Vice President of Beihang University, was honored with the Qian Xuesen Outstanding Contribution Award.
Yang Liwei, a deputy-chief designer for China’s manned space program, received the Qian Xuesen Highest Achievement Award. 20 individuals including Wang Xiang won the Qian Xuesen Outstanding Contribution Award, and 149 individuals including Sun Guobin received the Space Contribution Award. Besides, the winners of the Qian Xuesen Innovation Team Award and the Space International Cooperation Award were also announced at the ceremony.
Prof. Lyu Jinhu is mainly engaged in the study of collaborative control of complex systems and industrial Internet. He established the coordination and control theory of complex network systems, invented the distributed cluster cooperative control technology, and solved the problem of cooperative guidance of heterogeneous aircraft under uncertain conditions. He has won three second prizes of National Natural Science Award, the National Innovation Award, the first prize of Military Technology Invention Award, the second prize of National Teaching Achievement Award, the He Liang He Li Science and Technology Progress Award, the Guanghua Engineering Youth Award of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Young Scientist Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Youth Science and Technology Award, etc.
Zhang Jianhua and Tian Yulong, former deputy directors of National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Wang Yanling, secretary of the Standing Committee of Hubei Provincial People's Congress, Guo Yuanqiang, member of CPC Hubei Standing Committee and secretary of Wuhan Municipal Party Committee, and Dordain, former director of European Aeronautics and Space Administration, awarded the trophies, certificates and medals to the winning individuals and teams.
