Recently, the 7th International Conference in Aerospace for Young Scientists (ICAYS2024) was convened at the Conference Center of Beihang Hangzhou International Campus, attracting more than 20 experts and 80 young scholars from over 20 universities and scientific research institutions in the field of aerospace to participate. Initiated by Beihang University, the conference this year was jointly organized by the School of Aeronautic Science and Engineering and the International Innovation School of Beihang University, the Graduate Education Branch of China Aviation Education Society, and the COMAC-Beihang Large Aircraft Research Institute.
Chen Yingchun, member of the Standing Committee of COMAC Science and Technology Committee and chief scientist of COMAC-Beihang Large Aircraft Research Institute (Hangzhou), reviewed the development of China's aviation industry over the past 70 years. He encouraged the young scholars to study hard and work hard, strive to grow into outstanding scholars and strategic experts in the aviation field, and make contributions to the development of China’s aviation industry.
Bao Rui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Aeronautics, welcomed and thanked the guests for attending the meeting. She expected that the experts and young scholars can make full use of this platform to exchange ideas, gather wisdom, spark inspiration, and achieve academic improvement and ideological leap.
Ying Weidong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of Hangzhou Innovation Institute of Beihang University, introduced the construction and operation status of Beihang Hangzhou International Campus, and expressed his gratitude to the experts and scholars for their help and support.
During the session of invited reports in the morning, Professor Wang Lifeng from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Professor Gao Zhenxun from Beihang University, Researcher Zhang Hongxing from China Academy of Space Technology, Teacher Tan Qirui from Hangzhou Zhiyuan Research Institute, and Teacher Zeng Lifang from Zhejiang University delivered their reports successively, covering many topics including the theoretical basis, technical research, engineering application and industry development in the aerospace field.
In the afternoon, exchanges and reports in seven sub-conferences were carried out, with topics covering key technologies of next-generation civil aircraft, human-aircraft environment and energy management, unmanned air warfare and intelligent bee swarm, and aerospace mechanics and intelligent algorithms and applications. The conference also specially invited Professor Gao Hui, Professor Cao Xiaodong, Associate Researcher Tu Zhan, Associate Professor Wang Jiangsheng, Associate Professor Lu Songsong, Teacher Kan Zi and Teacher Zhou Xuan of Beihang University to serve as chairman of the sub-conferences and deliver reports.
During the conference, activities such as the recruitment promotion of Beihang International Innovation School and campus visits were also arranged.
Initiated by the School of Aeronautic Science and Engineering in 2016, the International Conference in Aerospace for Young Scientists has been held for seven sessions so far, attracting more than 800 young scholars from more than 20 countries and regions. It has gradually become an important platform for young scholars in the field of aviation to learn and exchange ideas.
In the future, the organizing committee of the conference will continue to uphold the development philosophy of “Broad Learning and Steady Accumulation,” fully leverage the advantages of Beihang University in aerospace science and technology disciplines, and strive to create a platform for young scholars to exchange ideas and spark inspiration, contributing to the independent cultivation of top innovative talents in the aviation field.
