On September 17, it was officially informed by Clarivate Analytics that the international academic journal Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) was indexed by the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). All articles of GNC will be retroactively included by Web of Science since its inception. The latest impact factor of the journal is 4.3.

The inclusion of GNC in the ESCI database signifies that GNC has gained the recognition of international academic and publishing communities. This is also another milestone for GNC after being selected into the High-Start New Journals of the Chinese Science Journal Excellence Action Plan in 2022, being included in the Grade A category of high-quality science journals by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology in 2023, obtaining the domestic publication number from the State Administration of Press and Publication in 2024 (domestic serial number: CN10-1988/V), and being indexed by Scopus in 2024.

Founded in March 2021, GNC was sponsored and owned by the Guidance, Navigation, and Control Branch of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics affiliated with Beihang university. It is supervised by the China Association for Science and Technology and published by the Singapore WSPC Publishing Group as an international academic journal.

ESCI, which is a part of the Web of Science Core Collection launched by Clarivate Analytics in 2015, includes high-quality, peer-reviewed academic journals that demonstrate regional significance and cover emerging technological fields. Being included in ESCI provides GNC with a more international and influential platform for high-quality development, significantly enhancing its international impact and academic dissemination capabilities.
