Recently, the final of the 6th International Qiushi Competition for Poetry Writing and Translation concluded at Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University. Two students majoring in Russian from Beihang University, including graduate student Chen Cheng and doctoral student Yang Duo, won first and second prizes in the national competition of the translation contest respectively. Prof. Wu Xiaoxia was awarded as the Outstanding Instructor, and Beihang University won the Excellent Organization Award.
In the provincial competition earlier, both Chen Cheng and Yang Duo won the first prize in the translation contest and advanced to the national competition. Additionally, Ji Chenhui and Zhang Yuhao won the second prize in the translation contest, while Zhang Jinru and Liao Muhao won the third prize. Beihang University ranked first among Beijing universities in terms of both the number and level of awards this year.
The International Qiushi Competition for Poetry Writing and Translation was initiated by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Zhejiang University in 2015 and has been held biennially ever since. The competition aims to build a platform for international communication in poetry writing, translation, and research. This year’s competition comprises two categories: poetry writing and translation. After multiple rounds including provincial and national competitions, nearly 100 entries were selected for the national final.
