Recently, Gwenaëlle Guillerme, Secretary-General of the T.I.M.E. Association (Top International Managers in Engineering), visited Beihang University. Beihang Vice President Zhao Weisheng met with the guest, accompanied by representatives from the International Relations Department, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Sino-French Engineer School, and the School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering.
In his address, Zhao Weisheng extended a warm welcome to Guillerme, and briefed her on the university’s latest development and the fruitful achievements the university has made in attending association activities and expanding cooperation among member universities since joining the T.I.M.E. Association. Zhao Weisheng noted that Beihang attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with world-renowned international university associations, and has initiated or joined 17 international university alliances and academic organizations in recent years. Beihang has continuously consolidated and deepened exchanges and cooperation with first-class universities in Europe such as France, Germany, Spain, and Italy, as well as countries along the “the Belt and Road,” and has established university-level partnerships with more than 30 member universities of the association, significantly accelerating its internationalization. He hoped that with the support of Guillerme, Beihang will further strengthen its exchanges and interactions with the association and continue to deepen bilateral and multilateral cooperation with member universities.
Guillerme expressed her gratitude for the warm reception, and commended Beihang's efforts in actively participating in and supporting the construction of the association and promoting practical cooperation among member universities. She briefly recounted the general situation of the 2024 General Assembly of the T.I.M.E. Association that was recently held in Canada, and extended gratitude to Professor Zhang Hui from the School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering for giving a special report at the meeting. She then elaborated on the key tasks that the association plans to prioritize in the next phase. She hoped that Beihang will give full play to its disciplinary and regional advantages, actively recommend first-class engineering universities to join the association, and invite relevant industrial partners to participate in its joint construction, making greater contributions to promoting the development of the association.
Afterwards, the two sides exchanged views on issues such as deepening exchanges and cooperation between Beihang and member universities, and facilitating the industry-education integration and science-education integration between the association and the member universities and their relevant partners.
Launched by École Centrale Paris in 1989, the T.I.M.E. Association is a university association composed of leading European engineering institutions. It aims to foster cooperation among member universities in engineering talent cultivation, particularly in double-degree programs. By providing an exchange platform, it endeavors to cultivate international engineering talents equipped with cross-cultural understanding and excellent professional abilities. Currently, the association consists of 57 member universities from 26 countries spanning France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, China, and Japan.
