Four Beihang Professors Win China Youth Science and Technology Award

On November 17, the 18th China Youth Science and Technology Award announced its list of winners at the opening ceremony of the 2024 World Young Scientist Summit held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province.

Four professors from Beihang University were featured on the list, including Deng Yue from the School of Artificial Intelligence, Zhang Zichen from the School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering, Gui Haichao from the School of Astronautics, and Fu Huishan from the School of Space and Earth Sciences.

Proposed by Qian Xuesen and other older generations of scientists, the China Youth Science and Technology Award was established in 1987. Jointly sponsored by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the China Association for Science and Technology, the award aims to recognize and reward young scientific and technological talents who have made outstanding contributions to the country's economic development, social progress and scientific and technological innovation, and to cultivate a group of young academic and technical leaders who stand at the forefront of global science and technology.

The award is held every two years, with no more than 100 winners each session. Around 1,600 young scientists have received this award since it was established over 30 years ago.
