Recently, the 12th Macao International Innovation and Invention Expo (MiiEX2024) was held at the Forum de Macau. XiaoHang AI Assistant, developed by the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University, won the Gold Award at MiiEX2024.
The event was organized by the Macao Innovation and Invention Association, guided by the China Invention Association, and co-organized by the World Invention Intellectual Property Alliance (WIIPA), the Hong Kong Invention and Innovation Association, and the Hong Kong Invention Association, with support from the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA).
XiaoHang AI Assistant is a comprehensive, domestically developed multimodal AI education model, created by the Data Science and Intelligent Computing Science and Education Platform of the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute. Currently, XiaoHang provides a wide range of services across teaching, learning, research, and management scenarios for faculty and students at Beihang University. It offers personalized learning guidance, intelligent teaching assistance, and precise process tracking to enhance education quality. It supports multimodal information processing, automated code generation, and high-quality writing assistance to boost research efficiency. It also creates a one-stop campus service and a collaborative schedule management system, delivering comprehensive intelligent support for campus life.
This year's competition attracted inventors, organizations, schools, companies, and individuals from more than 20 countries and regions, with 587 innovative inventions exhibited, setting a new record for the event. The judging panel, composed of over 140 international experts, conducted a comprehensive evaluation based on the scientific value, practical application potential, innovation richness, and thematic relevance of the works, and assessed the contestants’ on-site performances.
To align with the 14th Five-Year Plan, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the Greater Bay Area development, the Macao Innovation and Invention Association has hosted the international invention expo for 12 sessions since 2012. The Macao International Invention Expo has become one of the most influential innovation and invention exhibitions in Macao, known for its high standards, large scale, and international reach, attracting numerous universities, enterprises, and individuals from across the globe. It has grown into a vital international platform for innovation and invention exchange, connecting China and the world.
