Shi'e College, part of Beihang School, is named after Professor Lin Shi'e—a renowned patriotic scientist, automatic control expert, and aviation educator. As one of the founding members of Beihang, Professor Lin established China's disciplines of Automatic Flight Control System and Inertial Navigation System, contributing significantly to the nation's aerospace education and technology. The college originated from Qiming College, which started pilot operations in 2012 and was formally founded in June 2017.
Guided by the "TuoLuo (Spinning Top) Spirit"—rooted in Professor Lin's noble virtues of "Patriotism, Innovation, and Dedication"—Shi'e College follows three core principles: "unwavering determination, tenacious perseverance, and persistent effort." It inherits the legacy of "Serving the Nation through Aerospace Endeavors," and adheres to the motto "Patriotism, Confidence, Inclusiveness, and Innovation." The college aims to cultivate future leaders who meet national needs and drive global progress in the information field.
To achieve this, Shi'e College has developed a range of key educational brands, including:

After freshman year, students from the Engineering Experimental Class (Information Science and Technology) of the college will select their majors. They will pursue further studies in relevant majors in the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering, School of Instrumentation and Optoelectronic Engineering, and School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering.
