Established in 2008, the School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering is supported by the national top-tier discipline of biomedical engineering. Upholding the principle of "pioneering academic innovations to lead industrial development, and cultivating academic elites to nurture industry leaders," the School aligns its development with national priorities in public health, aerospace innovation, and national strategies. Guided by Beihang's "superior medical-engineering" strategy, the School has demonstrated perseverance and made steady progress, and, as a result, biomedical engineering has been recognized as a national top-tier discipline.
The School now features a comprehensive talent cultivation system spanning undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, including a first-level doctoral program in biomedical engineering, and a post-doctoral research station. It is a distinctive and internationally oriented school for talent cultivation and scientific research.
