Founded in 1956, the School of Economics and Management (SEM) at Beihang University is one of the first schools of economics and management established in science and engineering universities in China. It is also among the eight institutions first approved to have the national key discipline of Management Science and Engineering. Equipped with numerous provincial and ministerial key laboratories, the School is a key construction unit under the "211 Project", "985 Project", and "Double First-Class" Initiative. Meanwhile, it serves as the supporting institution for the first batch of national collaborative innovation centers approved under the "2011 Plan" and is one of the high-tech innovation centers in Beijing universities.
