School of Electronic and Information Engineering

For sixty years, the School of Electronic and Information Engineering at Beihang University has been at the forefront of China's aerospace electronics revolution. Established as the nation's first aviation radio department and first aviation electronics program, it has a storied legacy of innovation and academic excellence.

Propelled by top-tier national initiatives (Project 211, Project 985, Double First-Class), the School has dramatically broadened its horizons. Its academic portfolio now spans cutting-edge fields such as Information and Communication Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, Transportation Engineering, and Optical Engineering.

The School is now a nationally renowned epicenter for talent and research, distinguished by two first-class academic disciplines, four national first-class undergraduate programs, 14 doctoral and master's programs in Engineering, and two postdoctoral research stations.

Organized into seven specialized departments and an Experimental Teaching Center, the School fosters a dynamic community of over 2,000 full-time students, with graduates outnumbering undergraduates two-to-one.

Nurturing Future Leaders: An Integrated Educational Model

Guided by the principle of "Students First" and a culture of aerospace excellence, the School has built a unique educational model dedicated to nurturing well-rounded talents with strong ideals, expertise, and a global mindset.

The School has established an integrated "Six-Dimensional" education system, enriched by high-level forums such as the Academician Lectures, the Young Talents Salon, and the Qihang Alumni Mentorship Program. Each year, it invites nearly 20 academicians and chief engineers, over 20 outstanding alumni, and leading faculty to share cutting-edge insights—inspiring students to engage with national aerospace and electronic information missions.

To bridge education and employment, the School:

• Organizes annual visits to nearly 20 leading institutes and enterprises, strengthening industry ties and career awareness.

• Runs an on-campus recruitment green channel, where key employers host exclusive sessions and collect resumes directly.

• Implements a "One Database, Two Platforms, Five Cups, Three Competitions" innovation ecosystem, supporting students through a four-year competition cycle.

This holistic approach to education and innovation has fueled outstanding student outcomes. In 2024 alone, the students claimed 13 first prizes or higher in top-tier contests such as the "Challenge Cup" and the China International College Students' Innovation Competition.
