The School has set up the Center for International Cooperation, which oversees its school-level international exchanges and collaborations. The center consists of several departments, including those focusing on Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and South America. Over the past five years, six school-level education and technology cooperation agreements have been signed with renowned institutions such as the National Technical University of Athens in Greece, the University of Hong Kong, Politecnico di Torino in Italy, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in Spain, and the University of São Paulo in Brazil. With the support of its international academic team, the School has carried out joint basic research and technological cooperation. On average, it welcomes over 40 foreign experts for exchanges annually, with approximately 300 students taking part in related academic activities. Each year, five faculty delegations are dispatched to countries such as Italy, South Korea, and Russia.
International cooperation serves as a catalyst for cutting-edge and interdisciplinary research and speeds up the cultivation of talent in new energy and new power fields. Recently, hydrogen-powered aviation and electric propulsion have emerged as key academic directions. The School has introduced new undergraduate majors like Energy and Power Engineering and Electric Propulsion for Aviation. Focusing on green aviation power, it co-organized the 1st and 2nd International Green Aviation Development Forums with the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics and launched the "Beihang International Hydrogen Week." In addition, the School initiated the International Association of Green Aviation (IAGA) - International Hydrogen Energy Commission, with the aim of showcasing cutting-edge technology and major achievements in green aviation power and promoting its global application.
