The School adheres to a dual-driven strategy of meeting national strategic needs and pursuing international academic frontiers. Its development is characterized by a focus on integration of air and ground transportation, as well as the advancement of intelligent, networked, and collaborative transportation systems. The School is supported by multiple national and provincial platforms, including:
- The National Key Laboratory for Intelligent Transportation Integrated with Vehicles and Roads;
- The National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Applications in Comprehensive Transportation;
- The MOE Key Laboratory for Intelligent Transportation Technology and Systems;
- The MIIT Key Laboratory for Unmanned Transportation Technology of Special Vehicles;
- The Beijing Key Laboratory for Vehicle-Road Collaboration and Safety Control;
- The "111" Base for Innovation and Intelligence in Intelligent Transportation.
Over the past 12 years, the School has received seven National Science and Technology Awards.
