Abstract:

Released on August 2, 2025, the animated film "Nobody" received phenomenal acclaim, earning a Douban rating of 8.5 and becoming the highest-grossing 2D animated film in Chinese box office history. In this lecture, the film's director and screenwriter, Yu Shui, will share insights into the creative process and methodology behind the film, as well as his reflections on contemporary filmmaking.

About the Speaker:

Yu Shui is a Professor and Director of the Department of Digital Animation Art at the School of New Media Art and Design, Beihang University, and a former visiting scholar at Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany.

His animation works have received more than 40 awards at prestigious domestic and international film festivals, including the Best Artistic Innovation Award at the Hannover International Film Festival (Germany), the Gold Award for Best Animated Series at the Xiamen International Animation Festival, and the Academy Gold Award at the China International Cartoon & Animation Festival.
