The International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) has recently announced the results of its 2025 elections. Professor Fan Ying, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Beihang University and Director of the Lab for Low-Carbon Intelligent Governance of the Ministry of Education, has been elected as the 2026 IAEE President-Elect.

This election marks the first time in IAEE's history that a Chinese scholar has been elected President. The result reflects the recognition of Professor Fan Ying's academic excellence, international influence, and outstanding leadership by fellow scholars in the field of energy economics, and also signifies that China's energy economics research and energy economists have gained an important position within the global academic community.

As a global non-profit organization founded in 1977 and headquartered in the United States, IAEE is dedicated to providing an interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and issues among professionals interested in the field of energy economics. Currently, IAEE has over 3,000 members from more than 85 countries, making it the world's largest association of energy economists. Each year, IAEE organizes international academic conferences across different continents, along with a series of regional international meetings, wielding significant influence worldwide.
